In 1937, the principal meeting of all Obas of Yorubaland held at Oyo, The Ooni of Ife managed. In 1938, the subsequent gathering was held at Ife, the Ooni of Ife managed. In 1939, the gathering was held in Ibadan, the Ooni of Ife directed.

In 1940, the meeting of Yoruba Obas was held at Abeokuta, the Ooni of Ife directed. In 1941, the meeting was held at Ijebu-Tribute the Ooni of Ife managed.


In 1942, the meeting was held at Benin City the Ooni of Ife managed. It was the custom at the gathering for the Ooni of Ife to sit in the east and the other Obas to his right side and left.
